Caviar is the food of the gods
and is the roe of Sturgeon, which date from the
Triassic period. Samuel Pepys made reference to
Sturgeon swimming in the Thames. A Royal Fish which,
other than saffron, is the most expensive food
in the world.
How to eat Caviar
Simplicity is best when serving caviar and an original
1.8 kg tin of caviar looks stunning at a
dinner party. It should be served with either vodka
or Champagne -
the very subtle flavours of King's Remy Massin
Champagne merge
perfectly with the caviar, making it the perfect
accompaniment. King's
caviar is of the finest quality and is best served
on its own with French bread or blinis. Caviar
looks amazing on top of either a new potato or,
for a romantic breakfast, a softly boiled egg.
Once purchased it should be kept for no longer
than 8 weeks in a domestic fridge and consumed
almost immediately after opening. It's best served
with Mother
of Pearl spoons
and dishes which, as well as Cool
bags,
can be supplied by King's.
Farmed Caviar
We also supply wonderful farmed Oscietra caviar from Aquitaine in France. Compared to the wild this is more subtle in terms of taste, a slightly smaller egg with a consistent flavour and quality. Farmed caviar gives complete sustainability and protects the sturgeon stock in the Caspian Sea. This caviar is becoming increasingly popular.
